Tides are heating up towards hosting the highly anticipated EKO Excellence Awards that recognizes outstanding corporate organizations and individuals in the city of Lagos driving innovations, fueling growth and leading sustainable change. The award is aimed at recognizing excellent individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour, adding value to humanity and contributing to the growth and development of the city of Lagos.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos, the executive secretary of the award Ms. Busola Aribiyi noted that the event will be one of the largest gatherings of chief executives, business owners, political leaders, MD’s, key management of businesses and emerging leaders for an award and recognition in the history of Lagos with the theme BECOMING AFRICA’S TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION HUB IN THE 21ST CENTURY; PROSPECTS FOR THE CITY OF LAGOS.
She further buttressed that the theme of the award was carefully selected to explore the unlimited possibility of technology and innovation for individuals, corporate organization and multinationals in the city Lagos in carrying out business processes, improve communication and human resource management as well as save time and create mobility. The theme will also look into areas of how to engage technology and innovation to revolutionalize business operations, radically reduce costs, improve profitability and improve ease of doing business.
The secretary of the independent audit committee of the awards Mr, Sydney Ugbeda of Bleu Orange Media Limited noted that the online voting process has witnessed significant participation from the general public. In his words “in just two weeks of opening the online voting platform, a total number of 15, 547 votes have been recorded with massive votes coming from the healthcare, media, entertainment and banking sector with a number of other individual categories”.
He, however, noted that the voting has been extended till Saturday 6th October 2019 to give room for more participation from individuals and corporate organizations who got their letters of nomination quite late due to some logistics challenge.
Mr Sydney also added that the award program is not a room to flaunt or ostentatiously showcase wealth and power of some deep pockets in our society, rather he made it known that the EKO Excellence Awards is a genuine inspiring means towards recognizing notable individuals and corporate organizations driving innovations, fueling growth and leading sustainable change in the city of Lagos.
The event is scheduled to hold at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday 23rd November 2019.

9th September 2019 – Announcement of award finalist/voting
